She graduated from San Francisco School of Massage Therapy & Bodywork as well as Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science, all of which continued to drive her fascination for human anatomy and overall wellness. Receiving massage therapy has always been a helpful tool for improving her own understanding of the body and healing process, consequently becoming a major factor in choosing this career path.

After graduating from San Francisco School of Massage & Bodywork, Mikaela utilizes a combination of relaxing Swedish style along with therapeutic sports massage techniques for a holistic and individualized approach based on each client’s needs. With clients Mikaela uses specific techniques for individual client’s needs, including the use of compression and range of motion assessments, Swedish & deep tissue, myofascial and trigger point release, pin and stretch, passive ROM, PNF, traction, and mobilization. Whether you are seeking preventative care, deep and targeted work, improved athletic performance, treating chronic pain, or just achieving overall relaxation, Mikaela will ensure those needs are met in each session.

Outside of work, you will likely find Mikaela enjoying her time outside (preferably in the sun) going for walks, running, surfing, and biking. As an advocate of rest and recovery, she can often be found in the kitchen cooking, listening to music, stretching, and dancing.

Alex Weber

My life took a pivotal turn at the age of 21 when I underwent a rare major pelvic reconstructive surgery. Every phase of my recovery was challenging. My incision took ages to heal shut and was greatly impacted by major edema. My lower back ached from the many days I spent sitting and in a wheelchair. My chest and arms took the burden of walking with crutches for many months. The structure of my pelvis forever changed, causing a ripple effect of tightened muscles, compensation issues, nerve damage, and major scar tissue adhesions in my upper leg and abdomen.

I visited countless bodyworkers to find relief. Some walked on top of me, others poked needles into me or ran electrical currents through my skin, but in general I had a difficult time recovering.  I learned how to listen to my body. I changed my major to study more in school, and realized I want to help others with challenges like those I have gone through.  I enrolled in massage school and developed a strong foundation in bodywork. In working on clients I applied all the wisdom I learned from my own healers and I had great success, but I wanted to learn more.I embarked on a year-long educational adventure through South East Asia where I studied bodywork and herbalism in the local temples of the villages I traveled through. During this time I received a post-graduate diploma in Ayurvedic Medicine and Yogic Science.

Upon my return home, I’ve learned and integrated Osteopathic palpation techniques to my work and have added Manual Lymphatic Drainage to my repertoire to serve a diverse range of clients, from athletes seeking peak performance, to individuals undergoing pre and post-operative care. As an avid athlete, surfer, backpacker and highly active human, I understand where to find trigger points and how to approach them. Because I know how it feels to undergo a major physical trauma, my greatest passion lies in the world of recovery, especially holistic scar tissue and adhesion release.
