Beth\’s Elixirs

What are Beth\’s Elixirs?

Through years of working with a wide variety of patients as an acupuncturist, herbalist and functional medicine practitioner, I have seen firsthand how the day-to-day rigorous  lifestyle habits have negatively affected my patients’ health and wellbeing. I saw the foundation of their health crumble, impacting all of their important body systems. Many of my patients were suffering from an array of ailments –  including fatigue, mood changes, difficulty losing weight, impaired recovery, increased stress and compromised immune systems. Patients often described themselves as being “overwhelmed by life.”

I wanted to help them get back to taking control of their health and lives. I wanted my patients to thrive – so I set out to find a way to help rejuvenate patients\’ overall health. I decided to create a special blend of medicinal herbs that could be added to tea, coffee, lattes, water, smoothies, protein bites, or energy balls . My goal was to create and provide a tasty treat with real health benefits, a win-win. Soon, my patients using this herbal blend reported a dramatic improvement in overall health and energy levels. I saw firsthand the results that this medicinal blend provided patients on their health journeys.

This is how Beth’s Elixirs was born.

Inspired by my experience and the significant  improvements seen in my patients, I was determined to share my elixirs with a wider audience in hopes of making optimal health and wellness easier, more accessible and delicious (making it easier to want to keep using!).

(P.S. Stay tuned for a very exciting re-branding of Beth’s Elixers!)

Beth’s Elixir #1: Nourish

Nourish contains a unique mixture of adaptogenic herbs blended with tasty cacao and cinnamon.  Adaptogenic herbs are natural plants and mushrooms that work with a person’s body to help them adapt; most notably, to stress. The regulating aspect of adaptogens act as a natural ally to your vital hormonal systems, helping manage persistent stress and fatigue.

Adaptogens offer several other health benefits, including…

  • Boosting the immune system
  • Support for maintaining a healthy weight
  • Increasing physical endurance & mental focus
  • Reducing discomfort caused by poor health
  • Encouraging a more balanced mood
  • Promoting proper hormonal balance

Adaptogens clearly offer incredibly significant health benefits and are a great addition to anyone\’s regular diet. There might be various ways to consume adaptogens, but a prepared and proper blend of adaptogenic herbs is the best, most effective way to see results.

Think of adaptogens like a thermostat. They keep your body’s stress response at a desirable level, much like the way a thermostat keeps the temperature from becoming too high or too low. They’re good for you all the time – maintaining a balanced level within your body everyday, not just when you have high stress levels and your body is put into crisis.

What makes Nourish special? Nourish contains a unique combination of adaptogenics and other herbs and spices that work in conjunction to provide optimal benefits in an easy to use and tasty way.

Nourish Contains:

ASHWAGANDHA

Probably the most well known adaptogen today – ashwagandha is the herb of all herbs. It is believed to encourage youth and vitality.  It is great for soothing your nervous system, supporting your endocrine system, and boosting overall immunity. It also aids in fertility and supports you during your menstrual cycle as it is a rich source of iron.

CORDYCEPS

Cordyceps are a mushroom based adaptogen great for maintaining healthy liver and kidney function. Traditionally used to improve fertility, they have more recently been used to help increase athletic function performance physically and mentally. In addition to promoting improved organ function and athletic performance, cordyceps are great for optimizing brain function – offering support for the mental toll that stress and fatigue can take on the body and brain.

RHODIOLA

Rhodiola is the “get S#IT done” herb we all need in our lives. It is great for boosting productivity, balancing blood sugar levels, protecting the heart from stress related damage, and boosting the immune system. Rhodiola is essentially the herb we all need and want in our lives.

MACA

Maca is a nourishing food for the endocrine system, aiding the pituitary, adrenal, and thyroid glands (THE big shots of hormonal balance). It works to protect the body from stress related damage and keeps your hormones in check. Maca is also incredible for fertility as it increases and supports egg health while promoting increased libido in men and women.

ASTRAGALUS

Astragalus is a common herb often used in Chinese medicine for its ability to promote immune and cognitive health. It works to boost immunity and helps to buffer damaging effects caused by stress (which we really all need). .

CINNAMON

Cinnamon is one the most popular spices – and rightfully so. At the end of the day, cinnamon is one of the most delicious and healthiest spices on the planet, full of a plethora of impressive health benefits. It can lower blood sugar levels, reduce heart disease risk factors, and can improve insulin sensitivity . It is also probably the tastiest spice for getting in your antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

RAW CACAO POWDER

The health benefits of raw cacao are fantastic: it can improve your memory, reduce heart disease, shed fat, increase immunity, boost your bliss, and give you loads of energy. It contains about four times the antioxidant content of processed dark chocolate (plus it tastes pretty yummy).
